On Monday 27th January, the Board of Directors of the Inter-regional Federation of Hotels, Restaurants and Tourism (FIHRT) was held with the aim of addressing key issues and establishing guidelines for the future in the field of tourism and gastronomy.

The meeting took place at La Casa de Fusta Restaurant, located in the heart of the Ebro Delta. There, the typical gastronomy of the area was tasted.

The event was attended by representatives of the sector and several partner organisations, including Ecogots.

Issues such as new developments in the law against food waste were discussed. Issues related to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Hotel and Catering Industry in Catalonia and the future of the associations and guilds were also discussed in the context of the new PIMEC electoral cycle.

It should be noted that, in line with this and, together with Arroz Montsià, Ecogots launched the initiative to deliver more than 19,000 Ecotuppers made from rice husks to the establishments associated with the FIHRT.

With this meeting, the FIHRT reaffirms its commitment to the territory and the hotel and tourism sector, promoting initiatives for its improvement and adaptation to the new challenges of the market, and promoting joint work between associations, companies and institutions to face the challenges and opportunities of 2025.
