Today, to celebrate Community Manager’s Day, we have the pleasure of interviewing Andrea, who is part of the Ecogots team and is in charge of managing our online communities. Andrea is the key piece to interact with our followers and build relationships in social networks. Through her work, she has managed to create a positive and participative environment that reflects the essence of our brand.

In this interview, we will learn a little more about her day-to-day life, the challenges she faces and what being a Community Manager really means to her.

Andrea, introduce yourself!

I’m Andrea Navarro, I’m 24 years old and I studied Audiovisual Communication. I have always been fascinated by everything related to the world of film, and how stories are told and moments are captured through photographs. My other passion is music and from time to time I do performances.

What tools do you consider essential for a Community Manager in his daily work?

  • First of all, a calendar hahaha with the days of the year and all the ephemeris, it helps me to organize myself and plan well all the content I want to share.
  • An app to organize publications. It is essential to know what I want to tell, how I want to tell it and through what image I want it to be told.
  • A camera or cell phone to capture it all, you never know when a new opportunity may arise to show something or to give free rein to an idea that comes to your mind.
  • And finally, I would highlight a lot of posts hahahaha, I’m one of those who is always writing down little things.

Which social network or platform is the most effective for connecting with a community and why?

Well, it will always depend on the type of audience you want to connect with. That is, if I want to target a more or less broad audience, with specific and defined tastes, and that is very visual, I would go more to Instagram. On this platform, I also like to focus on showing the real use of our products, trying to put myself in the place of the needs and problems of our audience, in order to provide them with a solution.

On the other hand, if I intend to create links with other companies or people in a certain sector and create alliances, Linkedin is the undisputed app.

And if we are talking about generating a much more casual content, more immediate and more connected with trends, I will choose TikTok without hesitation. It is also a social network that allows you to take a much less “serious” stance, full of creativity and ingenuity.

What are your thoughts on the future of Community Managers’ work, especially with the rise of artificial intelligence and automations?

Very good question hahaha. I believe that AI can be a great ally, especially for tasks that are more repetitive, such as data analysis. This will allow Community Managers to focus more on human connection and the creation of original content that impresses their audience. In the end, no one knows your audience better than the one who is studying and interacting with them on a daily basis.

What advice would you give to someone who is starting out in the Community Manager profession or who wants to study something related to it?

Organization and planning are your best friends. In an industry where things tend to be very immediate, structuring your work and being two steps ahead in terms of planning is key. This allows you to have room to maneuver if something new comes up that needs to be communicated quickly, without altering all the programming that has already been created.

I would also emphasize that knowing your audience well is of the utmost importance. Create community by listening to their needs. In addition, it is essential to be aware of current trends and be willing to continue learning different skills, whether it is writing, image and video editing, etc.

Community managers, like life, are constantly changing and improving!
