What regulations apply to cups at festivals?

Standard UNE-EN 13429:2005

This European standard establishes the requirements that reusable containers must meet, ensuring that they can be used multiple times without compromising safety or functionality. Royal Decree 1055/20229:2005

This decree regulates the management of packaging and packaging waste in Spain, and has direct implications for events such as festivals. It requires traceability, collection and reuse or recycling of all packaging used. In other words, the use of single-use cups without control of their final destination is no longer allowed.

Cup reuse at festivals: how it works
