Sustainability Award in the XII Edition of the National Awards El Suplemento

On May 19, Ecogots’ work was recognized with the Sustainability Award at the XII Edition of the National Awards El Suplemento, whose gala was held at The Westin Palace Hotel in Madrid. The event, which was attended by our CEO’s Joan Cristina and Elisabet Zaragoza, brought together various personalities from different sectors, such as entrepreneurs, athletes and artists from all over Spain.
During the gala, 30 awards were presented, making a geographical and sectorial tour of fields as different as art, culture, music, communication, medicine, research, engineering and tourism. All with a common denominator: Spanish professionals with a great passion for their work, whose proposals, products, strategies or actions stand out both nationally and internationally, making it a great honor for Ecogots personalized glasses.
The El Suplemento National Awards recognized Ecogots for developing a technology that makes it possible to replace plastic with rice husks from the Ebro Delta, being the creators of the first reusable cups in Europe made from this type of organic waste. With our products we contribute to reduce CO2 emissions by -72%, as well as the amount of plastic waste, making us the best sustainable alternative to conventional cups.
Our CEO, Elisabet Zaragoza, was in charge of collecting the award in the Sustainability category. In addition to thanking for the recognition and congratulating the rest of the award winners, she added that ” Ecogots’ mission is to reduce the amount of plastic in packaging by taking advantage of a raw material that we would normally throw away. So we are already helping the environment, because we are using something that we would incinerate to make something else. Therefore, it is already a more sustainable packaging.
Zaragoza also stressed that “we are very committed to the environment because we believe that we must educate to change our consumption habits towards a more sustainable economy“. And he ended his speech wishing that “little by little, with small grains of sand, we all make a change towards a better world and that our children can enjoy it”.
Thanks to awards like this, we reinforce our environmental mission, reaffirming our desire to continue growing, innovating and learning. So, from Ecogots, we can do nothing but thank the recognition and congratulate the other winners who, like us, risk and fight for a better world.
